Therapy Modalities
EMDR Therapy
EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and it helps to get clients get unstuck.
When I practiced trauma therapy from a traditional lens, I noticed that some clients still felt stuck even after talking through their experiences—they continued to hold onto shame, fear, or anxiety as a result of their trauma. EMDR helps process this internal trauma.
EMDR Helps Heal More Than Trauma
EMDR is not just for trauma; it can also help with perfectionism, performance anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, and many other mental health concerns. I love using EMDR to help my clients gain lasting relief from the symptoms that brought them to therapy.
A Different Kind of Healing
I love using EMDR with clients who have felt stuck in talk therapy or who want to engage in a different kind of healing. EMDR helps them reduce the day-to-day impact of their symptoms, feel a sense of freedom, and move through the world with greater ease.
An eight-phase model to rewire the brain
EMDR is an eight-phase model in which I help clients examine the history of their beliefs, explore what brought them to therapy, and process the painful or traumatic experiences they’ve endured.
Together, we build an accessible toolbox of grounding skills and resources to help them navigate emotions with greater confidence. Using bilateral stimulation, I support clients in rewiring their brain and desensitizing distressing memories or sensations.
Rewriting Mental Scripts
EMDR helps rewrite the mental scripts clients may be holding onto—such as “I’m not good enough,” “I’m incapable,” or “I’m unlovable.” Through EMDR, we rewire the brain to access new, empowering beliefs that allow clients to move through the world with more compassion, grace, and self-understanding. EMDR helps people feel more settled in their bodies by desensitizing painful memories or physical sensations that cause discomfort or dysregulation.
